Have you often thought that, as an avid gamer, you would love to get work as a game tester, but you don't have any idea what game requirements testers must adhere to? The game tester requirements are not that rigid. Almost anyone with the proper equipment and game playing talent is eligible. The basic requirements demanded by most game companies are listed below.
** You must be no younger than 18 years old. This requirement is often treated loosely by most game companies. Different game companies treat this requirement lightly. Many companies use underage game testers, especially if the testers are working from home bases.
** You must be an avid and experienced game player. Today, almost everyone has had experience playing video games. It takes only a few weeks playing games like Halo, Oblivion, or other similar games, to become hooked. There is a difference, however, between playing video games and being a game playing expert. One of the basic video game tester requirements that game developers are looking for is game playing expertise.
** Your gaming equipment must be upgraded to the latest next-gen versions: Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii to name a few. Without having the latest versions, you'd never be considered as a tester. No game company needs testers for obsolete games. Without the proper equipment, you won't be able to fire up the games in the first place. Without the needed equipment, don't bother to apply.
** You'll need to own or have access to a high-end computer. A powerful computer is an essential tool for testing modern PC games. If you have a new next-gen gaming system, you may not need the computer upgrade.
** You must have a credible resume supporting your claim to meeting video game tester job requirements. Your experience does not necessarily have to be extensive, but the resume must clearly indicate that your are capable. It's not enough that you want the job, you must have enough to offer to the game company that they want you for the job.
If you can manage to fulfill all of the game requirements testers must meet, as listed above, you're well on your way to being a credible game tester candidate. If you are an expert game player and understand what is expected from a game tester, then you're ready. If you have a good resume, go for it. Apply early and often for any posting that you are aware of. You'll never get the job if you don't try.
